Community Advantage and AmeriHealth Advantage plans combine in 2017

August 31, 2016

[

Beginning January 1, 2017, AmeriHealth New Jersey's Community Advantage plans will be combined with AmeriHealth Advantage and the name Community Advantage will no longer be used. The seamless transition from Community Advantage to AmeriHealth Advantage will make these plans available for individual customers and small and large group employers based in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Gloucester, Monmouth, and Ocean counties.

AmeriHealth Advantage plans in 2017

AmeriHealth Advantage plans will have the same tiered benefits as the former Community and AmeriHealth Advantage plans. Members enrolled in AmeriHealth Advantage have the opportunity to access care at a lower cost from the plan's Tier 1 hospitals: Cooper University Health Care, Shore Medical Center, Cape Regional Medical Center, Meridian Health, and specialty care at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. These members will also have access to health systems throughout the state using the Local Value network.

Note: All current Community Advantage Tier 1 physicians will remain in Tier 1 for AmeriHealth Advantage.

Individual customers living in the seven counties listed may choose an AmeriHealth Advantage plan during the 2017 Open Enrollment Period beginning November 1, 2016. Coverage will be effective as early as January 1, 2017.

Small and large group employers based in the seven counties listed may begin offering AmeriHealth Advantage plans to their employees as of January 1, 2017, upon renewal.

AmeriHealth Advantage ID cards

All members enrolled in AmeriHealth Advantage plans will have an AmeriHealth Advantage and Local Value logo printed in the top right corner of their 2017 member ID card. Please note that new 2017 AmeriHealth New Jersey ID cards will no longer showcase a Community Advantage logo. Any physician who previously accepted Community Advantage members should continue to accept these members if their member ID card has an AmeriHealth Advantage logo.

If you have any questions regarding this transition, please call Customer Service at 1-888-YOUR-AH1 or contact your Provider Partnership Associate.
