In the May 2014 edition of Partners in Health UpdateSM,
we announced changes to an incentive opportunity for
primary care providers who have face-to-face encounters
and submit SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment,
and Plan) Progress Notes for their members who, based
on our claims data, may not have had an office visit
with their primary care physician (PCP) in the past year
or who may have a chronic condition. Those changes
included an expansion of eligible membership, as well as
limitations of the incentive payment.
Effective August 1, 2014, AmeriHealth New Jersey will
implement additional changes to the incentive payment
limitations of the program as follows:
- The incentive payment is now limited to one electronic
SOAP Progress Note submission per practice for each
eligible member, per calendar year. The previous limit
was six.
- For providers who already submitted a SOAP Progress
Note for a member in 2014 and received an incentive
payment, the balance (up to the maximum) will be paid
separately.
