Updated: Important information regarding Authorization Submission and Inquiry

NaviNet and AmeriHealth are receiving a number of inquiries related to Medical/Surgical and Chemotherapy/Infusion authorization requests. When initiating either of these requests through NaviNet, please follow these steps:

  • Individual physician selection is no longer available as you now need to select the appropriate group and location from the Facility/Admitting Physician drop-down menu.
  • Enter the member's complete identification number (including alpha prefix). Member name and date of birth are optional fields.
  • Enter a date of service (Medical/Surgical requests can be dated retroactively up to 2 days from the current date, or up to 180 days into the future).
  • When searching for the status of a previously submitted authorization request, select the Group/Facility from the provider drop-down menu. Do not select an individual provider from the provider drop-down menu.
