AmeriHealth New Jersey has
launched a new 51+ Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) product. Similar to a
closed panel PPO, this EPO product allows members to receive in-network
benefits without selecting a primary care physician or obtaining referrals.
AmeriHealth New Jersey 51+ EPO members must use network providers; under this
plan there are no out-of-network benefits. Preventive services are covered at
100 percent. In March of this year, AmeriHealth launched EPO plans for the
individual market.
Plan designs include EPO options with
both the Preferred and Value Networks, Custom Rx Options, as well as a Health
Savings Account (HSA) and National Access. AmeriHealth New Jersey 51+ EPO
members will have ?EPO? printed on their ID cards. 51+ EPO Health Savings
Account (HSA) members will have ID cards that read ?EPO HSA.?
To check member eligibility through the
NaviNet? web portal, select Member Eligibility and Benefits Inquiry from the
Plan Transactions menu.
As of April 1, 2013, all participating
providers were required to be registered with NaviNet. If your office location
has not yet registered, go to NaviNet and
select Sign Up from the top right. Providers
can also check eligibility through the Provider Automated System by calling
1-800-275-2583.
