New for 2019, AmeriHealth New Jersey is introducing three new Select plans for individual members.
During this past open enrollment season, AmeriHealth New Jersey offered a series of plans that are nearly identical to some of the Silver plans that were offered on exchanges in 2018. Members who purchased these plans during open enrollment began this coverage starting January 1, 2019.
- IHC Select Silver EPO AmeriHealth Advantage $25/$50
- IHC Select Silver EPO HSA AmeriHealth Hospital Advantage $50/$75
- IHC Select Silver HMO Local Value $50/$75
Some members were made aware of these plans in their renewal letter, which was sent out in late October 2018.
These plans have lower premiums than their on-exchange (through healthcare.gov) counterparts, making them an attractive option for cost-conscious consumers.
All Select plans for 2019 will use the Local Value network. Select plan members’ ID cards will also say “Local Value” on the front, as indicated in this sample card:
