The online peer-to-peer process streamlines workflows, improves
cost-efficiencies, and complies with accreditation
requirements. The process was developed with input from the provider community
and offers providers a streamlined
process, along with opportunities to discuss decisions and resolve inquires
prior to initiating a formal appeal.
Visit AmeriHealth New Jersey or AmeriHealth Pennsylvania to submit your requests
electronically. In
order to process peer-to-peer requests quickly and efficiently, please make
sure to completely fill out the
Peer-to-Peer Request Form, which includes:
- patient information (i.e., name, reference number/ID number, and date of
birth); Note: You can now add up to five
patients in one submission.
- requesting physician?s contact information (i.e., name and telephone
number);
- inpatient information (i.e., facility name and telephone number, if
applicable).
If you have an urgent request, please call the AmeriHealth Medical
Director?s Office at 215-241-0494. For all out-of-
area requests, please call 1-888-YOUR-AH1 and press 1
for AmeriHealth New Jersey and 1-888-814-2244 for
AmeriHealth Pennsylvania. All non-urgent calls will be returned within 24
hours.
