AmeriHealth New Jersey is committed to providing enhanced access and
affordable solutions to health care in New Jersey. That's why we are excited to
announce that effective January 1, 2018, we will welcome RWJBarnabas Health to
tier 1 for both the AmeriHealth Advantage and Tier 1 Advantage networks.
AmeriHealth Advantage
The addition of RWJBarnabas Health will expand access to AmeriHealth
Advantage plans from seven New Jersey counties to 13. For 2018, AmeriHealth
Advantage plans will be available to individual customers and small and large
group employers based in the following counties:
- Atlantic
- Burlington
- Camden
- Cape May
- Essex ? NEW!
- Gloucester
- Hudson ? NEW!
- Mercer ? NEW!
- Middlesex ? NEW!
- Monmouth
- Ocean
- Somerset ? NEW!
- Union ? NEW!
In 2013, AmeriHealth New Jersey pioneered the use of tiered networks in the
state in collaboration with Cooper University Health. Since then the success of
this model has enabled us to bring in additional hospital systems from across
the state. Effective January 1, 2018, the list of AmeriHealth Advantage
hospital systems will include:
- AtlantiCare
- Cape Regional Medical Center
- Cooper University Health Care
- Deborah Heart and Lung Center
- Hackensack Meridian Health
- RWJBarnabas Health
Tier 1 Advantage
Effective January 1, 2018, RWJBarnabas Health will move to tier 1 for Tier 1
Advantage plans. This means all members enrolled in a Tier 1 Advantage plan
will have lower out-of-pocket costs for RWJBarnabas hospital and facility
services, beginning January 1, 2018.
Tier 1 Advantage tier 2 hospitals are still available to members through the
statewide Local Value network.* You can view the current list of Tier 1
