Changes to the experimental/investigational services policies effective January 1, 2015

Effective January 1, 2015, the AmeriHealth policy on experimental/investigational services will identify only those services that are considered to be experimental/investigational by AmeriHealth and are not contained in a specific medical policy that addresses the service.

For more information about these services, refer to our Medical Policy Portal. Select Accept and Go to Medical Policy Online, and then select the Commercial or Medicare Advantage tab from the top of the page, depending on the version of the policy you?d like to view:

  • Commercial: #12.01.01aa: Experimental/Investigational Services;
  • Medicare Advantage: #MA00.005: Experimental/Investigational Services.

Type the policy name or number in the Search field. You can also view policy activity through through the NaviNet® web portal by selecting the Reference Tools transaction, then Medical Policy.
