​Effective for dates of service on or after January 18, 2021, Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code C1780 will be added to the list of codes for correcting intraocular lens that are considered benefit exclusions by AmeriHealth and not eligible for reimbursement. Our policy has been updated to reflect our continuing position on Intraocular and Correcting Intraocular Lens (IOL). The intent of this policy remains unchanged; however, the policy was updated to introduce our coverage position and billing guidelines for new technology IOLs.
