AmeriHealth will revise reimbursement for assistant-at-surgery services provided by non-physician health care practitioners reporting services with modifier AS effective for dates of service on or after February 14, 2022. Non-physician health care practitioners are:
- Physicians assistants
- Nurse practitioners (NP/CRNP)
- Clinical nurse specialists
Reimbursement will be adjusted to 13.6% of the surgical allowance in accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services policy and payment methodology.
