​Effective July 1, 2022, we will return to our standard precertification process for coverage of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines, bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machines, and ventilators for all AmeriHealth and AmeriHealth Administrators members.

Coverage of replacement devices includes application of the Repair and Replacement policy criteria.

Consistent with guidance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, individuals who have not previously pursued coverage for a replacement device due to the Philips recall should contact Philips.

As previously communicated, AmeriHealth and AmeriHealth Administrators plans approved coverage of replacement devices for members who may have been directly affected by the Philips recall when specific requirements for replacement were met.
