At AmeriHealth HMO, Inc. and AmeriHealth Insurance Company of New Jersey, we are committed to promoting health equity and creating healthier outcomes for every person in every community we serve. That's why we are asking providers to voluntarily complete an 8-question survey about their demographics.
The survey will be administered during the standard credentialing/re-credentialing process beginning March 2, 2023.
Demographic factors (e.g., race, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation, and gender identity) can influence how people experience the health care system, as well as the health outcomes they achieve. The information collected from this survey will help us ensure that your patients, our members, have access to quality health care that best meets their needs. For some members, this may mean receiving care from a provider that shares their identity and/or speaks their native language.
This survey will be available on the PAR Application/Practitioner Participation online form. It will include questions about race, ethnicity, language, and pronouns. These are in addition to what we already ask about the languages providers speak.
Providers can choose not to answer any or all survey questions by selecting “Prefer not to share." Survey answers will not be used in any way in connection with credentialing and network participation decisions.
Data collected from the survey will be used to help us better serve your patients, our members. Language data will continue to be shared in our Provider Directory, along with assistive aides and affirming care information. Providers can choose whether certain information is shared on the Provider Directory.
While race and ethnicity information will only be shared in the Provider Directory if you choose, this information will be shared with our Member Services team. This is only provided when members ask to find providers who share their cultural identity.
