The Benefits of IndexProTM: Achieving five stars

July 14, 2020

Welcome back to The Benefits of IndexPro. The articles show how to use the reports and information on IndexPro as a supplement to the care you give to your patients, our members. You can read the previous tips in the Communications section of our dedicated PEAR portal page.

Tip of the week! Are you a five-star practice?

If you see Independence members with a Medicare Advantage HMO or PPO plan, then the care you provide to them affects your rating in Medicare’s Five-Star Quality Rating Program (Stars Program). Doing well in the Stars Program will positively affect your performance in other programs offered by Independence, such as the Quality Incentive Payment System (QIPS) program. It also helps to minimize the volume of chart requests sent to your practice during the annual Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) initiative.

You can use the STARS measure detail feature on IndexPro to see your current Stars Program rating, and see how many of your patients need certain services for you to reach a 4-Star and 5-Star rating.
