Have you opted into the QIPS program for measurement year 2021? Primary care practices still have time to opt in to the Quality Incentive Payment System (QIPS) program for measurement year 2021. The opt-in process will end in December.
Practices that do not submit their opt-in forms to participate in the QIPS program will not be measured on the quality measures or be eligible for any incentive payments. The QIPS program for measurement year 2021 is different from previous years. Visit our new dedicated
value-based program page to review the
QIPS program manual so you understand the program changes and your potential eligibility.
Opt in through IndexProTM
Practices must use IndexPro, accessible through the Provider Engagement, Analytics & Reporting (PEAR) portal, to complete the opt-in process. If your practice or organization is not registered for the PEAR portal and does not have access to IndexPro, you cannot opt in to the QIPS program.
Please visit our PEAR portal page for details on the registration process.
Practices should use the QIPS opt-in
reference guide to help in navigating the opt-in process. This guide shows the step-by-step process to follow in IndexPro to opt in to the QIPS program.
Office and Clinical Champions
As a reminder, when you opt in to the QIPS program for measurement year 2021, you will be asked to identify:
An Office Champion. An administrator who is responsible for coordinating value-based administrative activities at the practice location.
A Clinical Champion. A practicing physician who is responsible for coordinating value-based clinical activities at the practice location.
It is important to identify your respective Office and Clinical Champions before you complete the opt-in request to ensure a smooth process.
Look for reminders in
Partners in Health UpdateSM regarding the opt-in process and the upcoming deadline.
