EFT Resources

Since January 1, 2019, all participating providers have been required to register for and maintain electronic funds transfer (EFT) capability for the payment of claims, capitation, and incentive-based programs. EFT registration enables a direct electronic payment from Independence Blue Cross (IBX) or Independence Administrators to your bank account versus mailed check payments that can be lost or take several days to reach you.

This requirement is reflected in the Provider Manual for Participating Professional Providers and the Hospital Manual for Participating Hospitals, Ancillary Facilities, and Ancillary Providers.

The benefits of EFT

There are several benefits of using EFT over conventional paper-based methods, including:

  • higher security
  • faster access to funds
  • reduced administrative processing time

EFT enrollment – Updated

As of January 1, 2024, medical claim payments and remittances for members on our new platform — as well as all capitation payments — began being issued through PNC Bank's Claim Payments & Remittances (CPR) service, powered by ECHO Health.

We've now completed the final phase of transitioning provider payments to ECHO Health. As we continue processing residual claims payments, we ask providers to maintain EFT enrollment across multiple platforms to ensure uninterrupted payment delivery.

To ensure your EFT transactions are properly routed through our vendor platforms, please follow these steps:

1. Submit the appropriate enrollment form below to IBX or Independence Administrators:

2. Visit ECHO Health's provider portal and complete the EFT enrollment process.

Note: If you previously received payments via InstaMed and have not yet enrolled with ECHO Health, please take the steps above to avoid disruption in payments.
