We recently identified an issue with the Coordination of Benefits (COB) process that caused Medicare to deny some claims incorrectly. You will no longer receive denials from Medicare stating another carrier is primary. This issue has now been resolved in collaboration with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
What you need to do:

Please ensure all claims are first submitted to Medicare as they are the primary payor.

Resubmit any claim previously sent to Independence Blue Cross without the Medicare Explanation of Benefits (EOB). Be sure to include the EOB so we can process the claim as secondary.
