Independence Blue Cross (IBX) has updated the following Billing Sections of the Provider and Hospital Manuals:
- Provider Manual: Section 9
- Hospital Manual: Sections 9 and 10
Updates to the manuals include:
- IBX has clarified its timely filing guidelines, which require claims to be filed within 365 days from the date of service, in all manuals.
- IBX now uses the Stream Clearinghouse by Smart Data Solutions for EDI transactions.
- IBX has updated the policy on reimbursement for preoperative exams for outpatient surgery.
