Independence Blue Cross (IBX) has made changes to its affiliated corporate entities that offer or administer health benefit programs under provider participation agreements that will become effective July 1, 2024. Currently, QCC Insurance Company (QCC) is the corporate entity that has offered or administered IBX’s PPO commercial health benefit plans that use the Blue Cross® brand and logo.
Effective July 1, 2024, however, some of these PPO commercial health benefit plans will be offered or administered by Independence Assurance Company (IAC).
QCC and IAC are both wholly owned subsidiaries of IBX.
Provider Participation Agreements
Your provider participation agreement likely already lists QCC and IAC as subsidiaries of IBX and also includes Indemnity Benefit Programs.
In the event that it does not, however, this communication serves as notice of the addition of IAC as an IBX-affiliated company that offers or administers PPO commercial health benefit plans under your provider participation agreement. For professional providers, this also serves as notice of the addition of QCC as an affiliate that offers indemnity (comprehensive major medical) benefit plans under your provider participation agreement.
Both are effective July 1, 2024.
Important note: There is no other change to any of the terms and conditions of your provider participation agreement, including – but not limited to – coverage requirements, reimbursement rates, and member eligibility.
