​​​​Effective January 1, 2025, IBEW Local 98, IUOE Local 542, and Steamfitter 420 will transition to Blue Medicare Advantage (Blue MA), a retiree Medicare Advantage PPO plan.

Retirees with Medicare Parts A and B are eligible to enroll in the Medicare Advantage plan. The plan includes the National Access Plus benefit, which allows retirees to receive services from any provider, as long as the provider accepts Medicare.

The provider reimbursement schedule amount for Medicare Advantage claims w​​ill be in accordance with the contract for your local plan. The Medicare Advantage plan offers the same hospital and medical benefits that Medicare covers and also covers additional benefits that Medicare does not, such as an annual routine physical exam, routine hearing, LiveHealth Online, and One Pass™.

The member ID cards will include the Blue Medicare Advantage logo and the PPO icon for Medicare Advantage on the front of the card. Each card will also include the logo of the retiree group of which the patient is a member.

Providers should not bill Medicare. Please submit paper and electronic claims to your local Blue Cross/Blue Shield plan and include the 3-digit prefix that precedes the member ID number listed on the front of your patient's member ID card. Medicare limiting charges apply.
