Updated CMS-1500 toolkit and UB-04 guide now available

We recently updated our CMS-1500 claims submission toolkit and UB-04 claims submission guide in order to reflect current National Provider Identifier (NPI) crosswalk rules in regards to the G2 legacy number reference. Effective immediately, using the G2 legacy number reference is no longer needed for claims submissions.

Recent changes

The G2 legacy number references were removed from the CMS-1500 claims submission toolkit.

The following updates were made to the UB-04 claims submission guide:

  • removed the G2 legacy number references;
  • added Taxonomy Code Qualifier to Field 81, Description B3.

In addition, a Readability requirements section was added to both documents to give providers some helpful tips when preparing claims for submission.
