Our policies that address abdominoplasty, panniculectomy, abdominal
lipectomy, and other excisions of redundant skin were recently reviewed as part
of our routine policy process. For ease of use, these topics will be
combined.
The following policies, which were posted as Notifications on June 7, 2017,
will go into effect July 7, 2017:
- Commercial: #11.08.06h: Panniculectomy, Abdominoplasty,
and Other Excisions of Redundant Skin
- Medicare Advantage: #MA11.073a: Panniculectomy,
Abdominoplasty, Abdominal Lipectomy, and Other Excisions of Redundant Skin
Note: These combined-topic policies will replace the individual
policies that address abdominoplasty, panniculectomy, abdominal lipectomy, and
other excisions of redundant skin.
