Revision to draft Medical Policy #02.01.01c: Home Health Care Services

Due to the recent clarification from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding face-to-face encounter requirements for home health care services, IBC?s draft policy on home health care services (#02.01.01c), slated to become effective July 22, 2014, has been revised to remove the requirements for a face-to-face encounter by the certifying professional provider prior to certifying an individual's eligibility for home care services.

To view the revised Notification for Medical Policy #02.01.01c: Home Health Care Services in its entirety, visit our Medical Policy Portal, select Accept and Go to Medical Policy Online, and click on the Policy Notifications box. You can also view policy notifications using the NaviNet® web portal by selecting Reference Tools from the Plan Transactions menu, then Medical Policy. After this policy is in effect on July 22, 2014, it will be available by using the Search box on the Medical Policy homepage.
