The ICD-10-CM guidelines for coding transcutaneous electrical nerve
stimulators (TENS) and associated supplies have been updated to further clarify
indications that are considered to be experimental/investigational. Therefore,
Independence is updating our policies on TENS and associated supplies to
reflect these coding changes.
The following policies are currently posted as Notifications and will go
into effect May 7, 2018:
