The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), an association of
independent Blue Cross® and Blue Shield®
plans, recently announced that the Physician Quality Measure as well as the
Blue Physician Recognition programs
will come to an end. Effective February 1, 2017, this
information will no longer be displayed on our Find a
Doctor/Hospital tool.
In the August 2016 edition of Partners in Health
UpdateSM, we advised that updated physician ratings for the
Physician
Quality Measure program would be submitted to the BCBSA later this year.
Providers were encouraged to contact
their Network Coordinator to review their scores before they would be
displayed. However, due to the discontinuation
of the program, the updated rankings will not be
displayed. Both the Physician Quality Measures and the Blue Physician
Recognition logo were recently removed from the BCBSA?s National Doctor and
Hospital Finder.
Please note that your current Physician Quality Measure
rankings and the Blue Physician Recognition logos will
remain on display within our Find a Doctor/Hospital tool through January
2017.
