August 1, 2013

IBC has launched a new []section[] of our website dedicated to educating providers and members about medical specialty drugs. Medical specialty drugs are injectable and infusion therapy drugs that must be given by a health care provider, usually in a physician?s office, outpatient facility, infusion suite, or in the member?s home through a home infusion provider. These drugs are typically eligible for coverage under the member's medical benefit. The site's clean, modern design and user-friendly interface brings a whole new level of accessibility and transparency to how IBC manages medical specialty drugs. In addition, you can now download a PDF that lists all 180 of the IBC-designated specialty drugs, grouped by their most common therapeutic class. You can also access IBC-specific information about each drug, such as:precertification requirementsrelevant medical policiesdirect ship ordering informationmost appropriate settings to receive the drugThis new section of ibx.com provides a one-stop-shop for information on medical specialty drugs.
