Independence is providing this information from the Philadelphia 
Department of Public Health regarding the upcoming Democratic National 
Convention and potential threat of terrorism: 
From July 25 to July 28, the City of Philadelphia will host the Democratic 
National Convention, the formal nominating event for the Democratic candidates 
for President and Vice President. Health care facilities should be prepared for 
both naturally occurring events that might result in increased illness, as well 
as the possibility of terrorism resulting in civilian casualties. The 
Philadelphia Department of Public Health Division of Disease Control (DDC) 
recommends that health care facilities review their emergency response and 
disaster preparedness plans with the possibly heightened potential for 
terrorism and disease transmission.
