For your patients who have difficulty communicating because of an inability 
to speak or understand English, Independence provides language assistance 
services through the AT&T Language Line. Please instruct these patients (or a 
friend or family member) to call the Customer Service number listed on the back 
of their member ID card and follow the prompts, or wait to speak to a Customer 
Service representative. Members can call to schedule interpreter services in 
advance of their next appointment.
  
 Independence also offers telephone language-line services (TTY: 
711) for members who are deaf or hearing-impaired.
