​The deadline is fast approaching for primary care practices to opt in to the Quality Incentive Payment System (QIPS) program for measurement year 2021. The last day to opt-in is December 18, 2020.

Practices that do not submit their opt-in forms by December 18 to participate in the QIPS program will not be measured on the quality measures or be eligible for any incentive payments. Opt in through IndexPro^TM

Practices must use IndexPro, accessible through the Provider Engagement, Analytics & Reporting (PEAR) portal, to complete the opt-in process. If your practice or organization is not registered for the PEAR portal and does not have access to IndexPro, you cannot opt in to the QIPS program.

Office and Clinical Champions

As a reminder, when you opt in to the QIPS program for measurement year 2021, you will be asked to identify:

• An Office Champion. An administrator who is responsible for coordinating value-based administrative activities at the practice location.
• A Clinical Champion. A practicing physician who is responsible for coordinating value-based clinical activities at the practice location.

It is important to identify your respective Office and Clinical Champions before you complete the opt-in request to ensure a smooth process.
