Independence is proud to have its Keystone 65 HMO plan and Select Option® Rx PDP plan earn a 5 out of 5 stars and its Personal Choice 65SM PPO plan earn 4.5 stars. The CMS Star Ratings provide the public with a scorecard on Medicare Advantage and Medicare prescription drug plan quality and performance measures, including:
- Member compliance with preventive care and screening recommendations
- Chronic condition management
- Plan responsiveness, access to care, and overall quality
- Customer service
- Clarity and accuracy of prescription drug information and pricing
- Access to care

What is the impact of a 5-star rating?
A 5-star rating allows Independence to offer the Keystone 65 HMO plan and Select Option Rx PDP plan all year long. Members don't have to wait for the Annual Enrollment Period to enroll in or switch Medicare Advantage plans.
Please remind your team to check patients' insurance cards regularly, as they could change to our Keystone 65 HMO plan or Select Option Rx PDP plan at any time during 2022. They can also view Independence member eligibility in PEAR Practice Management.
