CAA: Independence is compliant with Continuity of Care provision

December 29, 2021

Effective January 1, 2022, Independence is required to implement a continuity of care provision for network changes as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA).

Please note that Independence's current business processes comply with this mandate.

This provision affects members who are being treated by providers whose network status changes from participating to non-participating. For members you are actively treating, and where continued treatment is needed after the date you are no longer part of the Independence network, the member can continue to receive care from you at the in-network cost-sharing amount for 90 days.
