​​Change to Medicare Advantage Inpatient Hospital Readmission claim payment policy

​Effective for dates of service on or after July 1, 2022, we are revising the Inpatient Hospital Readmission policy for Independence Medicare Advantage members. We have simplified the policy to a single set of criteria for readmissions within 30 days of discharge. There will no longer be separate criteria for within 5 days of discharge and within 6-30 days of discharge.
