​Precertification requests for enhanced utilization management services for Independence Administrators

​Effective July 1, 2022, Independence Administrators has delegated precertification for certain utilization management (UM) services to AIM Specialty Health® (AIM) and eviCore healthcare (eviCore). Providers must request precertification for members in the Enhanced Utilization Program for applicable UM services by contacting the respective vendor directly:

  • AIM: 1-833-305-1810
  • eviCore: 1-800-918-8924

AIM

Providers should seek precertification from AIM for:

  • cardiology covered modalities
  • high-technology radiology
  • musculoskeletal
    • spine surgery
    • interventional pain management
    • joint surgery
  • sleep studies, continuous positive airway pressure titration studies, and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices

eviCore

Providers should seek precertification from eviCore for:

  • certain genetic/genomic tests (i.e., nucleic acid testing) and certain molecular analyses
  • radiation therapy
