​Independence Blue Cross (Independence) is collaborating with Musculo, a specialized health coaching organization, on a pilot program for eligible members with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Musculo, an independent company, will provide eligible members with a virtual 12-month program that is designed to address the mental and physical health of RA patients to achieve fewer painful days and better clinical outcomes.

Only Independence members who participate in fully insured, commercial health plans are eligible for the Musculo program. Additionally, members must be 18 years of age or older, have an RA diagnosis, be under the care of a rheumatologist, and have internet access via a smartphone, computer, or tablet.

There is no cost to participate in the pilot. Musculo will reach out to eligible members to inform them of this new service. Those wishing to participate in the pilot will be able to self-enroll on the Musculo website.
