Independence Blue Cross (Independence) Medicare Advantage members can earn rewards for taking care of their health through the Independence Health Rewards program. Providers are encouraged to notify their patients of the incentives to improve their health and close care gaps.
Getting a COVID-19 shot is a new incentive
Based on physician and patient feedback, we have added the COVID-19 vaccine/booster shot incentive to the program.
We have also updated the incentive structure. An Annual Wellness visit is a requirement of the program. Members can complete the activities below to earn rewards in the form of gift cards. The activities do not have to be completed in order, but the incentives are not paid until the required activity is completed.
Members are eligible to redeem incentives for activities completed from January 1 through December 31, 2023.
How it works
Members can access Independence Health Rewards online or by phone.
When an Independence Medicare Advantage member completes an eligible activity, he or she can confirm completion by:
- logging into the ibx.com online portal or by
- calling the health rewards contact center at 1-877-268-3646.
Providers can refer members to a user guide that includes additional information and instructions to earn, report, redeem, and claim the reward as a plastic or electronic gift card. It also includes instructions to activate an account.
